A new man made Ross Creek lake near Medicine Hat covers 150 acres with 80,000 dollars in funding from PFRA and Alberta Province. The project envisions 300 more acres flooded next year, supplying water for three summer irrigation seasons for about 20 users between Irvine and Dunmore. Henry N. Cavan is credited with locating the impoundment site in 1938, with ongoing work by PFRA, local farmers, and the Medicine Hat Chamber irrigation committee. the dam will rise to about 30 feet next year to control flow through a 30 inch outlet canal.
