Gas prices rise as summer travel nears in Medicine Hat

GasBuddy data show Medicine Hat pump prices averaging 1.094 per litre on Friday with some stations above 1.12. The figure trails Canada's national average yet forecasts point to higher costs ahead as spring shifts to summer. Jason Toews notes last May's national mean was 1.087 per litre, while this year could top 1.135. He warns prices may reach about 1.35 by early summer, boosting travel costs and straining budgets. He advises careful planning and route optimization to curb wasted fuel.
