Gas prices likely to rise over next two years says energy minister
Energy Minister Alastair Gillespie announced after talks with provincial ministers that gasoline and home heating oil are set to climb by about three cents a gallon every six months for two years. Provinces agreed to raise crude prices by 2 dollars a barrel this year, with a possible same hike next year, despite opposition from Ontario, Manitoba and Nova Scotia.

Food Costs Drive April Rise in Canada Inflation

Fire at Abqaiq oilfield halts Saudi production
The Abqaiq field 35 miles southwest of Dhahran experienced a large explosion and fire. The blast shut down a pipeline carrying nearly two thirds of Saudi Arabia's oil output and threatened a major oil storage complex.
