Kanadian Kapers Dazzles Pupils at Miss Colter Show

A large audience enjoyed a near three hour Empress Theatre revue by Miss Colter’s pupils. Highlights included Joy Isom’s I’m a Night Owl, a nine-tot ensemble, a lively Easter Parade with a yellow egg-shell prop, a vibrant Dance of the Nations with performers from Canada to the United States, and Marian Frame’s Indian Love Call in the finale. The program featured elaborate costumes, stage sets, and a final “Waltz Pantomime” with ten dancers, followed by a playful kitten routine, concluding before the page advance to Continued on age Five.

US Retains Walker Cup in Scotland Narrowly

The United States beat Britain 9 1/2 to 2 1/2 to retain the Walker Cup after sweeping three of four foursomes Friday and winning five of the eight singles. Johnny Goodman of Omaha led with decisive wins while Tony Torrance halted the rout for England. Canada Won't Lose if Quota Adjusted Bennett says

Roth Gets Sixty Day Term For Theft

Gottlieb Roth of Irving was found guilty of theft in R. C. M. P. Court and sentenced to 60 days in Lethbridge jail. Evidence tied the case to the loss of a drum of gas seed wheat and wire valued at $15 from A. C. Carland’s farm twelve miles north of Irvine. Investigation by Corporal Barnes and Constable Taylor led to Roth’s arrest and additional theft charges.
