J. J. Williams was found guilty in district court of mixing his employer Weiss Bros. funds with his own. Sentencing suspended. he must repay the stolen amount and cover prosecution costs. Rested on a $12.50 collection he did not properly turn in, Williams claimed to have paid it.
A new plumbing business has commenced in Medicine Hat adjoining the Medicine Hat Heating and Plumbing Co. The management are noted as practical, successful plumbers also operating the Leithbridge Plumbing Co. in Lethbridge.
May 12 report from Eldred Pa says Parson's oil Co lost fifteen oil derricks three boiler rooms and oil tanks as fires spread through old fields. Fires along the Buffalo Rochester and Pittsburg line south of Bradford prompt railroad aid to protect oil property.
W Roper Hull announces plans for a three story theatre building in Medicine Hat. He cites ongoing projects in Lethbridge and Calgary and says start dates depend on local conditions. Hull, once known as the Cattle King, has been a major Calgary developer and promises a classy western theatre.
Walter Scott, a prairie homesteader near Bow Island, had several toes amputated after severe frostbite last winter. He was treated in the city and had seemed to recover, but a relapse necessitated another operation leaving him without the last of his toes.
The Toronto Street property between Fourth and Fifth Avenues, formerly owned by Mr. T. Hutchinson, sold yesterday to the Alberta Realty Co. for $20,000. The lot measures seventy five by one hundred thirty feet. Reported theft targets a watch and a chain left on a soap box dresser inside a tent used by News staff at 123 Montreal Street. Chief Mikeljohn is alerted and coal pawn brokers are asked to watch for the chain. No reward is offered due to tent costs.

City license commissioners recommended renewing Fred Stubbs at the King George hotel in Seven Persons after their meeting yesterday. They then traveled to Lethbridge for a morning meeting. In Calgary on Tuesday they refused renewal for a High River hotel and a Midnapore hotel.
James Johnstone a fourteen year old one armed boy fired a revolver at Archibald McMillan who was delivering lumber to a yard. Lenick aided the wounded man and pursued the shooter but Johnstone was captured by police. McMillan is in critical condition at the city hospital.
A blaze at the Adler Veneer Seat Co. in Brooklyn caused $100,000 in property damage. The Sterling Smelting works Victoria Packing Co American Brass Fixture Co and the Metal Stamping Co. were also damaged in the fire.
Philadelphia May 12. A sale at Villa Nova set world record prices for Guernsey cattle with Mortimer Plant paying 3800 dollars for Billys France of the Hague and 2600 dollars for Lady Gazelle bred by Yeves Lance. Seventy eight animals sold for 37275 dollars, a record for this strain, as cattle and market reports note historic highs despite regional chatter.
Fred Shipman plans a Western tour with Chevalier the Broadway star after a record making season at Keith and Proctor and Victoria. Shipman says Saskatoon will be part of the trip and notes strong box office potential and western audience interest.
R A Harrison of the Canadian Industry Bureau told Mayor Min and the new industries committee that interest in Western Canada remains strong in the States.
