Suffield tank sinks in Vancouver harbor tragedy

Private David Cowling 21 was rescued after a 51 ton Chieftain tank plunged 60 feet into Vancouver harbor from the stern of the Sir Bedivere. Longshore foreman Ken Lambrand dived in to save him as a harbor tug pulled them from the water. Salvage crews raced to recover the $250,000 tank within 24 hours.
