Lunenberg Nova Scotia May 10 A charge of manslaughter against Captain J G Kelly of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police was laid before Magistrate Berlinger following the death of William Tanner who was shot during a pursuit near Fernie. In Fernie British Columbia May 10 Mike Harmis died from two bullet wounds after a man opened fire while Harmis and two coworkers worked in the woods near the Western Pine Lumber Company camp. James Everett Ball of Kimberley is jailed on murder charges with the incident triggering an inquest and coroner’s inquiry in Fernie.
