By a nine to eight vote Dr Peter McGibbon urged production before the railways and shipping committee of expense accounts for about twelve Canadian National Railways officials for 1930 31. An Euler amendment to hand over records to the Board of Directors was defeated. The committee and sub committee had already begun broader inquiry including CN R directors.

New Radium Source Found By Dinner Day
In New Orleans on May 10 Sanford Withers M D of Denver told the American Radium Society a Denver firm using vanadium in steel has found 8 to 12 milligrams of radium per ton. Dolores Colorado supplies the radium and the plant expects at least 6000 milligrams in a year making radium cheaper than the Belgian monopoly priced at 75 000 a gram.

Eagle Added to River Side Park Aviary
A young eagle captured by Reg Bray in Petrified Coulee early this winter has been housed in River side Park’s aviary. Bray fed the bird and it now accepts food from his hand. The eagle sits in the north end of the enclosure as Mongolian and Chinese cock pheasants, plus two Canada geese, occupy the other section.
