Loss of long form census hits Tory heartland hardest
The decision to axe the long form census leaves western rural Canada without new data on population changes. Statistics Canada releases results from the 2011 National Household Survey showing caution over reliability in areas under 25 000 people and data withheld for 1128 municipalities mainly in rural and First Nations communities. Saskatchewan shows the worst results with over 500 communities unpublished.
