City Nurses Vote to Accept Two Year Contract
Nurses at Medicine Hat and District Hospital approved a two year agreement with a 37.8 percent salary raise after a small turnout. UNA Local 70 president Sandra Van Hal said 79 of about 190 nurses voted in favor with two against. The pact, settled after a 10 day strike, sets up joint staff management committees to address overwork and care concerns and raises starting pay to 10.09 and max to 11.79 by contract end.
