McKenna Lands WHL Rookie of the Year Honor
Gavin McKenna of the Medicine Hat Tigers won the WHL rookie of the year and the Jim Piggott Memorial Trophy for the 2023-24 season. The 16 year old, who turned 16 in December, posted 34 goals and 97 points in 61 games, trailing Terik Parascak in rookie scoring. McKenna spoke after returning from Canada’s U18 gold team in Finland where he set a points record.
