The Hudson Bay expedition is set for late this month with preparations under way for participants. A Kingston Penitentiary inquiry report will be tabled this week, signaling chief-officer changes. In agriculture, A E Howey joins the creamery push across Canadian creameries with thirteen sites listed from Yorkton to Fort William, plus eleven to twelve skim stations feeding regional creameries.
Maple Creek creamery shares raise funds to complete the building west of town near the railway crossing. Government plans provide machinery and an expert operator with milk pledged from about 700 cows. Four routes will bring cream daily. local residents supply separators and the project aims for profitability and regional dairy trade.

Timber cutting on Battle Creek aims to raft to markets, with potential all water route to New Orleans for European and South American markets if Dominion support expands. Wm. Stothers expects a second shipment of thoroughbred bulls from Ontario, while Saxon ranch moves headquarters from Conlee to Cottonwood or Lone Pine.
From Our Own Correspondent May 3 reports a social dance hosted by Miss Aattie Johnstop with about twelve couples and a midnight supper. Also notes riding assignments for Adam Rutherford for Mr Bray of Medicine Hat, Robt Rutherford and Bart Adsit planning a trip to Calgary for draught horses. Services were led by Rev Brunton west of Rush Lake. Ross Creek young ladies plan a May 24 picnic.
The season for sport opens with Medicine Hut boys ready for action. Bicycles and track conditions are good. Woodside, Chudleigh, already riding. A foot ball club may form. Canmore should prepare with heavy boots. Our horse track is fit with good race horses. Maple Creek cyclists plan a meet with the fall exhibition. A meeting is set in McClellan's barber shop tomorrow night Friday at 8 oclock to organize summer sport and decide on base ball football or lacrosse.
London markets show firmer cattle sentiment with gains of 3 cents per pound. United States cattle traded around 11 1/2 cents, Canadians 10 to 11 1/2, Argentine 10 4 cents. sheep 9 to 9 1/2. lambs 15 cents. Montreal reports cattle 4 to 9 lower, weights from 25 to 40 pounds, hogs down 1 to 2 cents.
The excursion car carrying Canadian conductors bound for the annual convention in Los Angeles, California, is attached to No.1 on Monday night. Local O R C lodge had prepared a half hour entertainment for the visiting delegates if the train had run on time. List of attendees includes Grand Trunk and Canadian Pacific officials from Montreal Toronto Hamilton North Bay Ottawa Winnipeg and other cities.
The Bicycle club met Tuesday night and decided to stage a Queen's Birthday event on May 24. A grand Calithumpian procession will lead to the Bicycle Feik for a mixed sports program with details to follow. Fireworks may cap the evening with a display Medicine Hat has not seen.
