Hector Lang leads with 402 in initial count in a Medicine Hat bye election. Lang holds second place behind Hendrick after first preferences with Bott at 298 and McCombs trailing. Total voters 485, far below the 3885 provincial by election turnout. Lang thanks supporters after a Liberal victory showing across most rolls.
Toronto reports the Cobourg Assizes verdict awarding Sir Arthur Currie 500 dollars and costs in his libel suit against W. T. R. Preston and F. W. Wilson. Wilson says he will appeal, with counsel uncommitted on grounds. Currie returns home tonight amid student and militia welcome noting the front commander's libel success.
Lang wins with a final majority of 195 after ranked choice counting at the Returning Officer's rooms. Initial tallies show Bett 2503 Hendrick on 1 Lang 1351 McCombs 510 Boil. subsequent transfers from eliminated candidates shifted votes until Lang led Hendrick by 498, final 1607 to 1109 with 11 ballots spoiled.
