Halifax May 2. The last identified Titanic dead to be transported from Halifax today or tomorrow. about seventy to eighty unmarked burials to be made across three sea overlooking cemeteries. Minia expected to recover remaining bodies and a cap tain asks not to announce new finds lest hopes mislead relatives.
Mr W H Babb owner of the Assiniboia hotel died suddenly this morning while driving his car on Fourth Avenue. He had just returned from Coleridge to take Mr W R Penland to the Soo Spokane flyer and was bringing travelers back when death occurred.

Toronto May 2 Sir Thomas Tate formerly with the Canadian Pacific and now in Australia is prominently mentioned as the successor to the late C M Hays as president of the Grand Trunk Railway.
Three men were killed and a boy injured when a train leaving St Johns struck a wagon carrying two brothers named Fayette a companion named Marsh and the boy. The accident occurred yesterday afternoon near St John as the train was en route to Troy.
Toronto report says Judge Mabee who underwent an appendectomy yesterday is resting easily this morning and recuperating.

John Logie, captain and owner of a fishing sue and well known on the great lakes, fell overboard last night and was drowned near Southampton. The incident was reported by the CW. A. P. dispatch on May 2.
The British battleship Empress of India collided with a German sailing vessel at Spithead early today. The Empress of India suffered a gaping hole in her side and a stove main deck while the merchantman lost its headgear and mainmast. The battleship was in mid channel in tow of the cruiser Warrior. The Empress of India is kept in special reserve for emergency use and has a displacement of about 14,000 tons.
Vancouver May 2 Ernest Clarke aged fourteen committed death by his own action this morning preferring death to school. He refused to attend and after his father entered the room he drew a revolver and shot himself through the temple, dying instantly.
Atlanta May 2 Oscar W Underwood of Alabama won the Georgia presidential primary over Woodrow Wilson. Underwood carried about 100 of 146 counties by 8577 votes while Wilson's strength was in larger cities. Governor Harmon had 189 and Speaker Champ Clark 692. A state convention will meet May 10 to ratify the voters action.
New York May 2 Negotiations for a settlement of the anthracite labor dispute that halted work for weeks may close this afternoon as operators delegates and United Mine Workers officials meet to consider an agreement. The accord may be formally ratified with minor changes.
Ottawa reports Alfred Brunet who represented the Canadian Government on the Grand Trunk Pacific board has been replaced by Mr. J Hone of Quebec in a mid May move.

Floyd Allen of Carroll County faces twelve jurors in Wytheville for his life on the charge that he shot and killed Commonwealth's Attorney Foster in the Hillsville courthouse tragedy. He is indicted on five murders but now pleads to the single shooting accusation.
Authorities believe a murder occurred after a stylishly dressed man about 44 years old was found floating in the river with a severe gash across the forehead. The body has not yet been identified.
London May 2 Lord Mersey as wreck commissioner and five assessors opened the board of trade inquiry into the loss of the White Star liner Titanic. The session outlined 26 questions covering pre casualty warnings and precautions, casualty events, equipment and construction, and Merchant Shipping Act rules. A 20 foot Titanic model and North Atlantic chart were shown before about 100 lawyers and 100 press correspondents. Sir Rufus Isaacs voiced government sympathy for the victims and praised seafaring duty and sacrifice.
In Killisnoo Alaska on May 2 a 12 year old Indian girl named Kittie Scott fled to the government school after threats of witchcraft. Reports say natives fear her spell caused a village tumor. Authorities worry she may be taken to a distant camp and burned by the tribe if not watched.
Fort William reports bank clearings for the week ending May 2 totaling 1,116,736.15 dollars, the largest in the city’s history and over four times the amount from seven months earlier, aided by outside capital inflows. Winnipeg totals for the weekend May reach 30,733,560 dollars, up from 24,707,240 in 1911 and 18,006,965 in 1910.
London May 2 The Bank of England reports reserves fell by 238000 pounds while circulation rose 420000 pounds. Bullion up 181000 dollars, other securities down 1857000, other deposits down 548000, notes reserve down 258000. Government securities unchanged and the reserve to liability ratio is 48.91 percent versus 48.42 percent last week.
Halifax May 2 The body of Geo E Graham the late European buyer for the T Eaton firm was positively identified by his brother in law B R Jackson. The body was in an excellent state of preservation.
A special circular from the eastern passenger departments extends reduced rates for students to all western points through June 30. The move broadens eligible travel for students in Toronto notices dated May 2.
