A son resides in Vancouver and two sons and a daughter in Edmonton. The funeral and interment will be held in Edmonton tomorrow.

Edmonton Chamber of Commerce pressed for a new freight-rate deal for the Prairies citing the long and short haul clause from the Spokane case. Frank Pepper argued Eastern Canada to Edmonton rates are higher per ton mile than to Winnipeg or Vancouver. The commission heard that Alberta bears the highest cost per ton mile and longest haul in Canada.
Ottawa dispatch reports Rt. Hon. Rh. B. Bennett, Conservative leader, warning in the House of Commons that Canada faces a new low mood. He compares 1938 to 1929 and 1930, cites falling exports to the United States, rising imports, unprofitable railways, and factory job cuts, urging government action. He moves a sub amendment to a pending want of confidence motion.
S C section leader S Ns Rogers warned Premier John Bracken that Social Credit will back the Liberal Progressive government only if two conditions are met.
