Burnaby plans to appeal a National Energy Board decision that allowed Kinder Morgan to bypass local bylaws for the Trans Mountain pipeline expansion. Mayor Derek Corrigan said the city will apply to the Supreme Court of Canada within 60 days, arguing the Federal Court of Appeal did not consider Burnaby and provincial government arguments. The case concerns higher volumes of diluted bitumen moving between Edmonton and Burnaby facilities amid environmental and economic concerns.
