Alberta Health Services says it will pay annual executive bonuses this year as the work was already completed under the contract. Board chair Stephen Lockwood argues it is unfair to alter compensation near year end while vowing to end pay at risk from April 1 to save costs.
Collin Gallant reports that Lansdowne Equity Ventures president Don Sandford calls for a third party audit of Medicine Hat’s Offsite Levy Bylaw arguing it may favor City projects over private development. He urges delay until audit and a clear council vision are in place.
Danielle Smith told supporters the government’s austerity plan must shift from attrition to front line saving. She proposed halving managers, hiring outside auditors to cut three percent, seven million dollars, and extending the infrastructure plan to curb overrun costs.
