Medicine Hat News reports the city's electric utility began removing a small number of trees on First Street 5.W., west of Second Avenue, to reduce hazards near overhead feeder lines. Where feasible, removed trees will be replaced with low growth varieties that extend outward rather than upward. Utility staff coordinated with area landowners and the parks department.
