Bill 28 Aimed at Tightening Alberta Municipal Elections

Medicine Hat News reports Bill 28 the Local Authorities Election Amendment Act 2006 seeks a more secure transparent election process to boost integrity and public confidence. Tools stolen in garage break-in on 4th Street

Medicine Hat police report a March 26 2006 garage break in at the 00 Block of 4th Street 5W where a 10 inch sliding compound saw a double tank compressor a red tool box and tools and a CD player were taken valued at about 1000 with no suspects yet and investigators seeking information.

Saskatchewan launches province wide paint recycling program

Starting April 1 residents will pay an eco fee on household paint to fund a province wide recycling program. Drop offs will be at 70 SARCAN facilities with fees from 10 cents to 1 dollar depending on container size. Regulations were approved earlier and stakeholders consulted.
