Flood waters roared through northern and central California and western Nevada with renewed violence. Two deaths were attributed to the floods and property damage topped $500,000. Reno faced further inundation as rivers rose and rain continued. Thousands of acres of orchards flooded and rail and water transport were crippled. Ottawa March 26 A group claims many men who never left Canada receive larger pensions than trench veterans. Dr Peter McGibbon Conservative MuskokA cites the issue at a pension committee meeting. John Thompson chair of the pension commissioners says the 1919 act was badly drafted and reforms are needed before the House recess.
Mrs. Max Fleischmann of Santa Barbara Calif brought a man eating tiger trophy from Indo China to Vancouver aboard the Empress of Russia with her husband Major Fleischmann. She bagged the big cat after a five hour wait in a jungle blind while her husband’s trophies were smaller.

In Toronto on March 27 Magistrate Edmund Jones sentenced two bank tellers, Cecil Laughlin and Noguiay Bray, to four years in Portsmouth penitentiary after they pleaded guilty to theft totaling more than 16,000 dollars. The police court handed down the term today.
