Edmonton March 27 The motion by Mrs Nellie Mc Clung Liberal Edmonton to submit a plebiscite on continuing elimination of the beer halls was defeated forty three to three in the Legislature. Premier Brownlee warned the move premature and urged education and gradual prohibition instead.

Detroit, March 27. Three men were shot in separate incidents last night and early today. Robber Leo White, 30, was killed during a cigar store robbery. Street car conductor Leroy Cobiee was fatally wounded while resisting an attempted robbery. Officer Boyd Bedore was found shot three times in an upstairs gambling house, his fate uncertain.
