Medicine Hat seeks provincial approval to join Calgary and Edmonton as municipal investors in equity portfolios. City council approved a policy to move about 100 million from energy reserves into AIMCo managed funds to boost returns amid a low interest environment and bond restrictions. Coun. Lions Park flood berm work starts amid spring weather
Crews began clearing Lions Park to build a 2.3 kilometre embankment protecting river flats from floods. Project manager Carlie Collier said work includes clearing trees and brush for two weeks, then soil stripping and storm sewer upgrades ahead of berm shoring.
