Surrey teacher attacked by student in office at Semiahmoo
Carolyn Oram, vice principal at Semiahmoo secondary in Surrey British Columbia, was stabbed three times when a 14 year old student she was disciplining attacked her on the first day back from spring break. Edmonton transit thief jailed for 4 years over fare-box thefts
Salim Kara, an Edmonton light rail transit worker, stole about 2.3 million dollars from fare boxes between 1981 and 1994. He pleaded guilty to theft over 1,000 and was sentenced to four years with parole eligibility in 16 months. Court noted the long calculated theft and ordered asset transfers to the insurer.
