Two Fires Last Night in City
Two fires broke out within hours in the city. At 11 43 p m firefighters found a gas valve opened inside a home at 1007 Factory Street igniting a stove gas and scorching bedding. No one was home. Mrs Pauline Brown discovered the blaze. A second alarm at 12 50 a m reported a rear yard rubbish pile at Dr H C Dixons house rekindled by winds after afternoon flames. Firemen fought two hours to subdue the blaze.

Horses Sell Strongly At Local Sale With High Averages
Last Friday a local horse sale moved about 494 horses at an average of 58.30 each, with more than 23 000 exchanged hands.
