Geneva reports Former Emperor William of Germany withdrew 250000 Swiss francs from a Zurich bank in early March. The funds were sent to Berlin before the attempted reactionary revolution led by Dr. Kapp and Gen Ludendorff. The German mark trades around 10 cen.
In Edmonton March 24 the legislature's rejection of a chiropractors board sparks support for amendments to the Medical Profession act. The minister Hon. A. G. MacKay proposes to let the University of Alberta register and examine those in medicine surgery midwifery homeopathy osteopathy chiropractic and other non drug systems. The senate would set recognized institutions prescribe curricula and oversee examinations and registrations.
Enthusiastic greeting as Commissioner Wm Eadie arrives in Medicine Hat with Major Alice Goodwin and Capt T Mundy. A family luncheon, a dedication of a local youngster, and praise for 82 years of service mark a solemn service led by the commissioner.

Ottawa March 26 The Supreme Council of Canada adjourned until April 6 without rulings in two Board of Commerce cases heard last week. Judgments will decide if the Board is a price fixing tribunal and its power to compel marketing of commodities at fixed prices and to fix penalties for violations of its orders.
Ottawa announces mass dismissal of naval services department staff with May 15 effective date, likely excluding the deputy minister and assistants. The action removes every staff member except top officials as of next month.
Farmers brought in more produce than usual as eggs reach 50c per dozen and butter remains scarce. Beef starts at 10c per lb, pork 32c, veal 15c, rabbits 50c each, butter 5c, turnips four pounds for 25c, onions 10c per lb, and potatoes at 2.75 per bushel.
Winnipeg March 26 A land sale worth a quarter of a million dollars was completed today to Charles Applegate a Minneapolis real estate agent representing Iowa men. The property lies along the Canadian National railway in the Humboldt district noted as one of western Canada's best mixed farming areas.
Ottawa delegates of the Dominion postal clerks pressed the civil service commission for a change in the salary scale. They were assured the matters would receive full consideration with a possible rise, but no definite promise was made.
Alberta Foundry and Machine Co announces first Canadian tractor shipment to Regina agent Mr J L Boyd for demonstration. About fifty tractors ready, all sold, with units sent to Alberta and Saskatchewan including Legal and Ronalane for Canada Land and Irrigation Co. Plant upgrades include new cranes and extension, aiming to produce ten tractors daily by year end. Dr R A Verdier and Mr C R Mosteller of Le Grange Georgia bought a tractor and recently purchased 300 acres at Patricia Alta.
In Edmonton March 26 Premier Charles Stewart said a landslide vote against liquor importation would signal Alberta becoming bone dry. George Headley pressed for a formal statement and the premier confirmed the stance as amendments to Mrs. J. L. McKinney’s Liquor Act were defeated 30 to 16 in the legislature.
F. S. Ratliff & Co. sold about 1980 acres in this district for cash to three Washington state men. Douglas McIntyre acquired 1120 acres eight miles east of the city while Clair Hickman and Bert Davis took 860 acres, part east and part west of the Hat. The land will be cropped this season and Hickman and Davis plan to relocate this year.
Ottawa reports that Canada's naval service will run on a pre-war basis with policy deferred until the imperial conference. Britain offers one light cruiser and two torpedo boat destroyers to replace the Globe and Rainbow. demobilization of officers and ratings is ordered to re organize the service. Admiral Kingsmill retires as director.
Arthur S. Wallace associate editor of the Manchester Guardian touring Canada says east of Toronto prohibition is farcical. He cites Hull shops during a Ottawa visit showing more Scotch varieties than found in large English or Scottish shops.
