Sofia reports fires in a beleaguered Adrianople as Bulgarian forces push forward. Infantry reached 300 yards from the main eastern fort by five o clock and seized the eastern fort line in a bayonet assault, clearing the way for a direct attack on the city.
Sofia correspondent of the Press Central reports Adrianople fallen with the Bulgarian Schipka regiment entering the city and all Turkish depots being blown up.
An elaborately scaled model of the proposed Toronto street subway, six feet square at one eighth inch to the foot, prepared by W. Hartland, will be shown to council. Moose Jaw reports a peculiar coincidence as Benjamin Smith, an elder resident, dies suddenly on a train near Medicine Hat. His brother Harry died years earlier in a near identical manner, close in timing and circumstance. Benjamin hailed from Arthurtown and had been traveling home.
