Czechs Seize Planes. 26 Choose To Stay In Germany
In Erding Germany AP Fifty eight Czechs who refused to escape communism recounted how seven anti Communist crew members seized three planes in flight and landed in the U S occupation zone. Of 85 aboard, 26 elected to stay in Germany. An American library employee aboard one flight returned to Prague by train from Munich. Some stayed to protect relatives. One plane was seized at gunpoint with Pilot Capt Josef Klesnil ordered to alter course under threat. Crew members tied hands of a resisting passenger. USAFE said about 53 of the 85 wish to return to Czechoslovakia. The group departed Bratislava Ostrava and Brno for Prague. Continued on page seven.
