Ottawa March 25 The defence estimates were opened in the House of Commons by Defence Minister Ian Mackenzie who said Canada had made no commitments on defence to the Imperial Conference and would seek Parliament's approval before any change. Injured Transient Improves at Local Hospital
Walter Laine an eighteen year old transient was injured in an accident at Redcliff yesterday while attempting to board a moving freight train. He arrived at the hospital here with his right leg amputated below the knee and was reported improving as well as can be expected at noon today.

John James Clark, 24, of Isabelle Manitoba, was sentenced by Justice W J Donovan to hang on June 15 for shooting Arthur Ross at the Clark home on October 26 1936. The motive given was Ross’s marriage to Clark’s sixteen year old sister Marie.

Henlein Demands New Elections for Sudeten Nazi Bloc
