A Calgary coroner's jury found no one at fault in a February 17 traffic accident near the Highway 1 and Trans-Canada junction that killed four southeastern Alberta teens. Dorothy Maier 17 Deborah Irving 18 Carol Willard 16 all of Medicine Hat and Sandra Richter 19 of Brooks died. The inquest noted dense fog and recommended eliminating level railway crossings on main highways.
Brooks Alberta faced a $67 645 shortfall after council refused to fund the school board’s requisition. Justice Kirby ruled the board has sole right to determine the amount needed and the council must levy taxes to cover it, unless an appeal is made within 60 days. The ruling clarifies that councils may be required to fund school needs under the School Act and Municipal Taxation Act.
Nashville AP James Earl Ray's new attorney, J B Stoner of Savannah, says he has independent information supporting Ray's innocence in the King assassination. Stoner, aided by Robert W.
