GATT members push tighter import controls with U S waiver

In Ottawa the 34 GATT nations propose a new Organisation for Trade Co operation to run tariff concessions and curb export subsidies while granting the United States a farm import curbs waiver. Churchill warns France of isolation if Paris treaties not ratified

Twelve Die In American Airlines Air Crash Near Springfield

An American Airlines Convair crashed in a pasture two miles north of Springfield airport during night rain, killing 12 and injuring 23. Memorial Hall Burns to Ground in Tofield Alberta

Fire believed caused by an explosion destroyed the Tofield Community and Memorial Hall on Sunday. Loss estimated between 80 000 and 100 000 dollars.
