British and French forces report continued German retreat on the Western Front withheld claims of a rout. Dispatches note evacuations along the Arras to Aisne frontier and renewed trench actions near Verdun, while Paris cites substantial gains across a 37 mile front and the Aisne heights recaptured from the enemy.

Robert Gamey M P P for Manitoulin died this morning in Toronto Ontario. The obituary notes his service in the provincial legislature and his role within the Liberal party. Services and funeral arrangements were not listed in the brief report.
John Koryebak an Austrian appeared before Magistrate Ray at the police court this morning for failing to report. He was fined $25 and costs of thirty days.
