Saskatoon March 19. City council unanimously rejects Andrew Carnegie's offer of 330000 for a public library. It will submit a bylaw to the people for 50000 to provide a site and building with the understanding that an additional 225000 may be needed if the money is voted.
Rome marked St Joseph's feast and Pope Pius X name day as a Vatican holiday with a private mass in the chapel, an audience for Cardinals, and congratulations from the Catholic Club of St Peter's.
The city will drill two gas wells next year. One well will reach 2000 feet to secure heavier gas pressure while the second will be 1200 feet. The gas committee report urged the action and the engineer will prepare the specifications.
The British American of Chicago presents Medicine Hat Alberta as a growing industrial hub at the Clay Products Exhibition in Chicago.
