Notorious B I G funeral draws crowd in Brooklyn procession

In Brooklyn Stuyvesant, mourners watched the Notorious B I G’s funeral procession nine days after his Los Angeles drive-by death. The scene turned unruly as police sprayed pepper foam and nine people were arrested for disorderly conduct amid clashes with officers.

School Art 2006 Opens at Esplanade Art Gallery

The Esplanade Art Gallery launches School Art 2006 with hundreds of works from over 30 Medicine Hat area schools. A free public reception is Sunday at 1 p.m. in the Main Lobby, followed by an awards ceremony at 1:30 p.m. in the Main Theatre featuring the Medicine Hat College Girls Choir. Dozens of volunteer jurors selected more than 500 pieces in January. over 40 artworks will receive awards sponsored by school boards and community groups.
