Edmonton March 17 Special to the News Attorney General Brownlee says a bill will be introduced early next week to protect farmers in the drought area from unfair creditor pressure when disposing of the year's crop. The measure aims to guard against seizures by smaller creditors while not creating a moratorium.
Taylor Statten spoke at a Fifth Avenue church luncheon on progress in boys work across Canada. He praised church leadership, noted Toronto surveys showing church reach to Protestant and Jewish youth, and highlighted Alberta as a leader with programs like Cayley Taxi boys and Irma trail rangers. Ottawa March 16 Sir Lomer Gouin former premier of Quebec addressed the house as justice minister. He defended the Liberal aim of state railways while blasting Meighen as a poor loser led by bitterness toward Montreal and Quebec. The debate followed a torpid course until Gouin spoke with strong applause from Liberal and Progressive members.
