Ottawa reports Hon. H H Stevens urges a three way split of profits above a datum: one third to the state one third to workers and one third to the company. He also proposes stiffened taxes on holding companies and a federal trade and industries commission to regulate corporations.
Former Alberta premier J E Brownlee spoke in the Legislature warning that social credit is sweeping the country and urged MPs to declare their stance. He argued Alberta cannot act independently while still part of Canada and called for extending the Dominion Farmers' Creditors Arrangement Act to aid farmers and educate the public. He praised provincial credit management, Wheat Pool support, and questioned budgeting critiques while stressing flexible interest rates and provincial services.

Ottawa reports February exports up 23.5 percent from 1934, totaling 46.72 million dollars, while 37.84 million dollars were exported in the prior year. Berlin reports a secret cabinet session approved compulsory military training and Hitler proclaimed Germany is released from Versailles obligations. The planned future army would be 12 corps in 36 divisions totaling about 480,000 men, far beyond the 100,000 limit.
In western Manitoba near Arden a seven-foot skeleton, possibly centuries old, was uncovered by gravel pit workers. The bones were found four feet underground in Arden Ridge and are being studied by Prof. J. S. Delury of the University of Manitoba.
Wiley Post halted his attempt to set a nonstop Los Angeles to New York record when oxygen ran low over Cleveland. He landed at Cleveland Municipal Airport after 2 163 miles flown in about 4 hours 4 minutes at an average speed near 270 mph. Most of the journey occurred above 20 000 feet before the emergency return and dead stick landing.
Tim Buck general secretary of the Communist Party of Canada arrived in Calgary to a 1000-strong crowd. He was escorted from the station to Red Square where he spoke, declaring the aim of achieving Soviet Canada.
W Harry Ross Liberal of Calgary charged in the legislature that the provincial government reversed its refunding policy within the last year. He argued revenue and taxation rises, questioned bond terms, proposed callable features, and suggested eastern refinance cooperation to aid western provinces. He criticized information gaps and warned of a likely current year deficit near 1.5 million dollars.
