Romania waits two decades for a telephone line

In Bucharest Constantin Coltea died after waiting since 1977 for a Romtelecom telephone line. The company recently asked him to confirm the request within 15 days or drop it. His widow, Caliopi, 81, cannot afford the line on her monthly pension. A Romtelecom spokeswoman said two similar 15 year waits occurred about a year ago.
