Paramedics at Medicine Hat Hospital Ratify Contract

Medicine Hat and District Hospital Board ratified a two year pact with 11 full time and 11 casual paramedics. The agreement gives 0.28 percent wage increase in year one and 2.53 percent on November 1, 1985, with starting pay previously at 2081 dollars per month or 13.21 per hour.

Petro-Canada posts best year with 151 million earnings

Petro-Canada reported net earnings of 151 million for the year ending December 31, 1984, its strongest year on record. Revenues reached 4.99 billion, up 20 percent from 4.17 billion. The annual earnings statement was tabled in Parliament by Energy Minister Pat Carney.

He and two other inmates Dave Cameron and a third man named Shute tied five nurses and a guard to oxygen cylinders after Scott slashed his wrists. Trucker escapes blaze at Hy-Point mill
