The Israeli cabinet backed two key concessions to advance a Egypt Israel peace treaty. Ministers said final parliamentary approval would come Sunday. The vote was 15 to 1 with one abstention.
A Jordanian Boeing 727 failed on its third attempted landing in a rainstorm at Doha and burst into flames killing 45 of 64 aboard. Among the 19 survivors are two Britons. two Americans and several Europeans were aboard, with one woman in serious condition. The flight originated in Amman and was en route to Muscat after the crash near Doha airport.
