Seville reports fifty killed and 480 injured when the Santa Barbara powder depot near Seville exploded. The blast wrecked a workers' suburb of 300 houses, leaving nearly all homes destroyed and about 2400 people homeless.
Ruth Rawlins of Toronto was killed and her body moved 115 miles by two St Petersburg taxi drivers. Police chief said she was struck on the head with an electric cord around the neck. First degree murder warrants were issued for the drivers.
President Roosevelt will deliver a 30 minute radio address at 7 30 p m tomorrow night from the White House Correspondents Association dinner. He will discuss defence aid to nations fighting aggressors with details on lend lease transfers not yet decided. War Secretary Stimson said some materials have begun moving to Britain under the act.
Citizens meet the RAF specials at the CPR depot and escort hundreds of airmen to their new base west of the city. First impressions mix camouflage jokes at the red roofs and green huts and the cemetery nearby. Themen approve the school layout and hangars as the relocation begins.

Bremen Fimden and other naval targets suffered heavy damage, with a German supply ship sunk off the Frisian islands and several vessels damaged off the Norwegian coast. Six RAF planes were reported lost.
London March 14 A. J Alexander First Lord of the Admiralty told a parliamentary press luncheon that a British victory will be quick if the Empire endures until American aid arrives. He urged 109 per cent national cooperation as the navy takes a major role in this crucial war period.

March 14. Award of contracts for 10 additional corvettes in Canada's wartime shipbuilding program announced by Hon. C. D. Howe. The contracts raise total corvettes built and to be built in Canadian shipyards to 80.
Ottawa March 14 Premier Mackenzie King met with a Trades and Labor Congress of Canada delegation led by Tom Moore. The group charged government and some employers with failing to observe wartime labor principles. The memorandum cited unrest among workers and ongoing grievances while noting restraint and few strikes in war industries.
Andrew Davison of Calgary warned that delaying action on the Dominion provincial relations report could trigger a new cycle of unemployment after the war. Duggan said the legislature should stay in session until the report is tabled, outlining Alberta’s steps and noting 24 organizations submitted to the royal commission.
At No 10 Downing Street a statement says Prime Minister Churchill will send Sir Arthur Salter to the United States to work out shipping assistance under lend lease. A mission led by Robert H Brand will also travel to arrange food supplies as part of the war effort.
