Russian youth arrested in Walsh area for murder

John Kollesavrch, 21, born in Russia, was arrested at his home south east of Walsh yesterday afternoon on the charge of murdering J. H. Galkins last Monday. He appeared before J.P. John Pollock at Irvine and was remanded to March 21 in Medicine Hat. The case involved a double barreled shotgun and police traced him from aed blizzard reports to his Saskatchewan home. Detective Reid declined comment on confessions pending preliminary hearing.

Flour Prices Decline as Mills Cut Quotations Sharply

In Minneapolis during December a major drop in flour quotes occurred as the largest mills reduced prices to cents per barrel for the best grade of family patents. The sharp decrease followed a severe drop in wheat prices cited by the mills as the cause of the change.

Communists and Police Clash in Halle Germany

A clash in Halle between police and Communists left seven dead and several injured including women, according to a London despatch. Trouble began over translation of speeches by German and British Communists as police ordered the hall cleared. Communists fired first. Police fired back ending with multiple casualties and injuries.

Christian Science Manslaughter Case May Be Adjourned

The adjournment of the Christian Science manslaughter case may follow an indefinite delay after physicians reported Thomas Ogilvie, a juror, suffers pneumonia. Crown and defence will confer, and jurors may be allowed to disperse for the weekend as the court mulls the charity case involving Derent Watson and others.

Winnipeg reports Wheat inspections for yesterday totaled 256 cars with 105 contract grade. Last year 8223 cars were inspected. Course gofins chambered 105 cars versus 150 a year ago.

Fire at Vapneall destroys butcher shop and damages restaurant

Fire swept the Vapneall area destroying the butcher shop owned by W. O. Campbell and damaging the adjoining restaurant owned by Weng Sam. Part of the restaurant contents were saved. The origin is believed to be an overheated stove in the butcher shop. A nearby residence of T. H. Auttin at Webb was gutted, with losses around 2100, partly insured.

Central City Kentucky March miner W H Pint who helped in the Floyd Collins cave rescue says he has signed a contract with Homer Collins to recover his brother's body. The body was not yet found but is believed dead and recovery work is planned to begin in April.
