Former Liberal cabinet minister Bryce Mackasey was tied to Hall Ltee a bankrupt Montreal machine tool firm that lobbied for federal contracts in 1981 and 1982. Documents show Mackasey on Hall’s board in late November 1981 before he says he sought cabinet help. He says he declined board offers after legal advice. Petro-Canada Buys BP Canada Refining and Marketing

Petro-Canada announced it will own 80 percent of BP Refining and Marketing Canada Ltd, acquiring 51.7 million Class A and 1.15 million Class B shares for 350 million dollars.
