Death Toll Climbs in Bow Island Crash

The sixth victim died Sunday at Medicine Hat General Hospital nine days after a two car crash near Bow Island. Mrs. Julia Sunseth, 39, died at 8 20 P M from severe head injuries. The wreck killed Mrs. Sunseth's husband, her mother, two daughters, and another man. Surviving children include 17 year old Justine in hospital, Barry 4 and Leslie 2. Victims also include Roy S. Beattie Bow Island pioneer and driver, Mrs Justine Domso 60, Lloyd Lunseth 40, and Audrey Lunseth 10. Harlene Lunseth, 7, died in hospital six hours after the collision. Burial services were held for Beattie and Domso, and for the Lunseths. Coroner Dr. Skinner said the inquest date is not yet set.

Skier Killed In Out of Bounds Avalanche Near Jasper

Charles Dupre, 29, a Canada-based Swiss immigrant, was buried by an avalanche at Marmot Basin about 10 miles from Jasper. The out-of-bounds area was marked by the park warden. he was skiing with Olive Grobet who was 100 yards behind him.
