World Notables Die After California Car Crash
Santa Maria Calif March 12 John R McLean mining engineer and WW veteran married last week to Kathleen Burke Peabody died in Santa Maria hospital from a fractured skull after a head on collision on the coast highway. Mrs McLean known as the most decorated woman of the World War remains in hospital with slight injuries. The couple had planned a honeymoon visit to President Hoover and travel to Italy and South America before returning. The chauffeur James Irwin drove to pass a truck when another car collided head on. The four occupants of the other car were hospitalized. Barbara Comfort three, of El Cerrito, seriously hurt.

Buffalo meat mix up at Medicine Hat banquet clarified
The Medicine Hat Fish and Game Association corrected an error in The News about buffalo meat for the banquet. The meat was half a carcase of a two year old heifer slaughtered at the Wainwright reserve under Ottawa orders. The executive will meet Wednesday at seven thirty to submit final reports and tickets are sold by local outlets.

Taber March 11 Recent word was received here of the death at Long Beach California where he had lived with his wife since 1914 of J D Fuller old time cattle man and rancher of Southern Alberta Mr Fuller came from Montana in 1880 to manage the Old Circle ranch northwest of here for the I G Baker Co and was later manager of the Cameron ranch purchased and operated by him for some years He married the sister of C BE Furman partner with J B Jett Taber in the Bow River Cattle Co and on selling out his ranch interests disposed of his herds to that company He was a close friend of Hon Archie McLean and was a frequent visitor to Taber during the early days of the town Cause of death was a paralytic stroke

Contract For Dull Gas Wells Awarded
