New Commonwealth Society founder Lord Davies told the English Speaking Union in New York that the world is drifting toward a war ghastly beyond the last one. He urged the Commonwealth of Nations to seek peaceful settlement of all disputes amid rising global tension.
The Alberta division of the Canadian Red Cross Society sent Medicine Hat over five hundred blankets three hundred bed comforters and a quantity of sheets pillow cases and towels to aid farmers in dried districts. Recipients expressed gratitude and pledged future support if possible while the Alberta division seeks donations in May as its funds run low.

The W.M.S. of the Medicine Hat Presbyterial plans a handicrafts exhibition at Glasgow House Second St on Wednesday May 12 Coronation Day and during the rest of the week. Details will be announced later as features are added. A rest room with cots will be provided so visitors from country points have a place to rest and feel at home.
The House agriculture committee approved a plan to continue annual 500 million dollar payments to farmers under the soil conservation program through 1912. The bill shifts grants to states next year, as states have been slow to establish programs, per Chairman Jones.

Frederic Nodder, 45, a Birmingham truck driver, was found guilty of abducting 10 year old Mona Tinsley. He pleaded guilty and received seven years hard labor after nine counts. Prosecution said he met the girl in Newark and took her by bus to Retford where she was kept overnight and never seen again.
After two days of caucusing Social Credit members the Alberta legislature will reconvene to end a four day recess. The caucus approved the budget of Provincial Treasurer Law and discussed two bills on Alberta credit and an import export bureau. Premier Aberhart will attend the coronation as official representative of the Alberta government and may stay in London for sessions of the imperial conference.
