Largest captive croc Gomek dies at Florida alligator farm
Gomek a 5.4 metre 862 kilogram crocodile once billed the largest in captivity died at the St. Augustine Alligator Farm and Zoological Park in Florida. Captured in New Guinea in the 1950s the famed reptile was believed 60 80 years old and had drawn about 100 visitors daily. The cause of death was not yet determined according to Bill Puckett the attraction director.
