Medicine Hat Chamber of Commerce eyes an October sheep sale leveraging central location and easy rail access. Breeders say 30 000 to 40 000 head could be drawn, benefiting from low transport costs with land access, water from Seven Persons Creek, and central auction facilities.
The Canadian Trade Commissioner clarifies to shippers that stores are two-year-old cattle preferred by British farmers. Unfinished three-year olds are not stores and will be slaughtered.
