Rest Home seeks tax exemption before Local Authorities Board
The Baptist Haven of Rest asked yesterday to be exempted from city taxes. Directors Rev Henry Schumacher and Rev Erin hold Kanwischer appealed before the Local Authorities Board, arguing eligibility under Section 4 of the Municipal Tax Exemption Act for non profit status land ownership and charitable use. The board adjourned the hearing to April 29 to allow financial evidence and notices to be prepared.
