Reports say seven or eight German planes raided last night. One dropped bombs in London causing four houses to collapse in the northwestern district and another in the northern area. Police say eleven killed and 46 injured with additional bodies feared.
In the House of Commons Andrew Bonar Law argued that Russia’s pullout crippled most war theatres except German colonies. He noted a 2 000 strong field with only 200 Germans in Portuguese East Africa and described Romania’s peril due to Russia’s failure. He doubted decisive Mesopotamia and Palestine operations were possible by sea due to tonnage and trained troop shortages.
Dr Turner of Toronto was committed for trial on a murder charge in connection with Marion Stone’s death at Toronto General Hospital following an alleged illegal operation. Bail set at 10,000 dollars. Turner recovering from blood poisoning.

Halifax March 6 Captain Lamedoc and Pilot Maény of the French steamer Mont Blanc were committed to the supreme court for trial on manslaughter charges. Commander Wyatt, chief examining officer, was bound over to April if a grand jury finds a true bill.
The Customs Office reports a marked rise in monthly returns, up over 25 percent from the prior year. For February, 1917 the amount was 7867.66 dollars and for February, 1918 it rose to 9799.01 dollars.
London dispatch reports Kiev, Ukraine’s capital, remains in Russian hands. The Soviet news agency in Petrograd refutes an earlier claim that Kiev fell to Germany, noting the prior report came from enemy sources and was wireless in origin.
