A Medicine Hat man died after being hit by a car while hitchhiking about 11 p.m. Friday on the Trans-Canada Highway 1.6 kilometres east of Dunmore Road. The hitchhiker's name will not be released until next of kin in Ontario are notified. Police say the fatality is under investigation and the hitchhiker, described as an older gentleman, was alone at the time.
Dozens dead and hundreds missing after the Herald of Free Enterprise ferry capsized off Zeebrugge near Dover.
