London March 7 The capture of Moguadiscio and Chisimaio in Italian Somaliland eliminated the chief bases for Axis surface raiders in the Indian Ocean the Admiralty announced. At Chisimaio five Italian merchant ships totalling 28153 tons were seized and four scuttled. A 7000 ton German vessel was captured but later sank in tow.
